Who's Who in Classic Modeling of the Sixties

This is a Hub connecting websites and blogs. Our archives are informally organized into portfolios. The images have been contributed to by many models of the era, as well as fans, family and archivists, It has been a voluntary effort in the recreation of the bodies of work of the most interesting models of the 50s - 70s.

Models of the 50s, 60s and 70s are featured with stories and editorial comments about the outstanding models who were "Household Images" Their familiar faces helped in branding the product or designer.The names of these very visible models, in most cases, were held back from the general public. Celebrities rarely appeared on the covers of fashion magazines or in fashion spreads except in Special Features.

Model History

Legendary modeling agency owner, Eileen Ford went to Europe seeking beautiful and interesting girls.American girls were sent to Paris, resulting in intriguing lifestyles, traveling all over Europe on exotic bookings for magazines and catalogs.

Then came the British Invasion! Everything English was so Mod. Young women from Germany, Scandinavia, and other European countries began to come to the United States.

This website identifies the models whos images were lost, or not scanned. It has inspired hundreds of people to send images. There are over 25,000 in the archives for educational purposes.
